< Combat Hero: AP Proton Charge EV2 >

This hero handles all you need as far as combat is concerned.  Properly placing yourself will allow you to quickly clear a line of minions and bosses with Proton Charge.  Its only real issue is overheating, but, once you get all the necessary shards and practice a bit, you should have no issues.  Siege Rollers can be killed more efficiently by other heroes, but EV2 can use her anti-gravity bots to damage the Siege Roller core.

= Usage/Notes =

  • make sure you’re standing in a safe spot before firing your Proton Charge because you will be immobile until you cancel it
  • watch your overheat meter, so you don’t become unable to use your abilities (get used to firing your primary attack between Proton Charge uses)
  • consider using a fast firing weapon to help you reduce your overheat (2/s or faster; Gibler’s is ideal)
  • decoy can help stall a lane and let your defenses take care of things (can use the air time to drain your overheat)
  • if using EV2 to kill Siege Rollers, try to get into the habit of dodging the missiles while placing several bots by the Siege Roller core (denote them with your primary attack or Proton Charge)

= Pets =

  • Dragolich can use its ability to cause targets to take double damage from all sources (bought for 7500 defender medals at the treasure pirate in town/tavern or received from certain DLC)
  • a gato pet with Sparkle Party might be needed for C5+ to help get assassins off your hero (can give you the opportunity to melt them with Proton Charge, too)

< Builder: Proton Beam, Reflect Beam, and Weapon Manufacturer >

EV2’s Weapon Manufacturer is great for farming and dealing high concentrated damage without upgrades.  Her Proton Beams, once properly set up, is a triple threat in being able to slow, freeze, and dealing high damage (when upgraded).  Proton Beams are upgraded as an entire string, so you can take advantage of its placement flexibility if you lanes with many turns.  Her Reflect Beams are a hard counter to the Hex Throwers in C6, but you can use them in any scenario where you have a hard time dealing with ranged minions.

= Initial Ascension Suggestions =

Max the ascension benefits in the order listed below.  EV2 has the convenience of not needing range gambits, so she can hybrid her crit chance ascensions early compared to most heroes.

I’m suggesting Hero Health on the offense tree to help with assassins in C5+, but you can invest in the benefits in any order you feel is best for you.

Defense Speed is suggested first on the Defense Tree to benefit the DPS of multiple defenses early on.  The order of defense damage increase doesn’t really matter unless you find yourself using one defense over the other more often.

After maxing out both crit chance ascensions, the order of everything else depends on your preference.  Higher movement speed means you can respond to lanes faster.  Higher heat capacity makes it easier to manage your overheat for Proton Charge.  Proton Beam Slow means it’s easier to control your lanes if you use Proton Beams a lot.  Crit Damage is more damage potential for either the hero or the defenses.

Reflect Beams don’t need ascension benefits.

  • Offense: Hero Health, Proton Charge Damage
  • Defense: Defense Speed, Weapon Manufacturer Damage, Proton Beam Damage
  • Utility: Defense Crit Chance, Hero Crit Chance, Movement Speed, Proton Beam Slow, Heat Capacity, Hero Crit Damage/Defense Crit Damage

= Placement Suggestions =

  • Weapon Manufacturers have the same guidelines as Flame Auras.  Spread the nodes apart if you are trying to cover a longer lane.  Stack the nodes together if you want to concentrate damage to a specific area or are trying to build close to a spawn.
  • Place one of the nodes of a Weapon Manufacturer or a Proton Beam close to a blockade with Power Pylon to get Defense Power buffs for the entire node network
  • Proton Beams beams can generally be built in long lines to your blockades if you want to slow lane minions/bosses through a narrow path or some variation of zig-zags to cover a specific areas.
  • If you think your single Proton Beam string might miss some enemies on a long lane, build a single proton string with parallel lines
  • Build separate, intersecting proton lines if you want to increase the chance to freeze enemies and increase your damage
  • If you know hex throwers will throw at a specific blockade when using multiple blockades on that lane, you only need to cover that blockade with a reflect beam and save yourself some DU

= Relic/Shard Notes =

The shards listed in the build template below are what you might want by the time you reach C7.  Assuming you acquire shards chronologically, here’s some general guidelines on how you can use your shards until then.

Proton Beam

  • until you get a higher crit chance, Destruction (C1) will be your primary damage shard
  • Defensive Critical Strike (C2) can be a temporary crit chance fix to let you make use of crit damage shards (won’t need them once you have 20 in defense crit chance ascension)
  • Defense Rate (C4) should be used until you approach the defense speed caps, which you’ll hit when you’re closer to C7 relics (compare DPS with shard combinations as needed)
  • once you have your 30% crit chance, Power Transfer (C4) on a medallion makes Proton Beam scale very well when upgraded
  • once you acquire Frosty Beams (C5), replace the shard that has the least impact on your DPS

Reflect Beam

  • As long as your relic has a defense health stat close to your progression tier, it will be usable.  Sharding it up is unnecessary as far as reflecting is concerned.
  • Fortification (C1) shard with a Totem can make it more durable if needed.
  • Standard damage shards (see Proton Beam) can be used if you want it to deal damage

Weapon Manufacturer

  • until you get a higher crit chance, Destruction (C1) will be your primary damage shard
  • Defensive Critical Strike (C2) can be a temporary crit chance fix to let you make use of crit damage shards (won’t need them once you have 20 in defense crit chance ascension)
  • Deadly Strikes (C3) makes it easier to overlap your nodes for stacked damage
  • Defense Rate (C4) should be used until you approach the defense speed caps, which you’ll hit when you’re closer to C7 relics (compare DPS with shard combinations as needed)
