If Flamethrower Towers are hard for you to place in C2 because of its short range, PDTs have great range and can poison multiple targets.  You can still use PDTs if you like in C5, but I feel Flamethrower Towers offer better AoE.

 

= Initial Ascension Suggestions =

PDT benefits will be prioritized here as it’s the only defense for this build.  The Offense section is pretty much irrelevant to a builder, but you could put Hero Health if you plan to build during combat.  After this, you can just put points into the benefits of other towers you want to use (similar damage/gambit perks)

  • Offense: Hero Health
  • Defense: Defense Speed, Poison Dart Tower Damage
  • Utility: Defense Crit Chance, Poison Dart Tower Gambit

 

= Placement Suggestions =

  • PDTs can’t rotate, so make sure to position them where they are guaranteed to hit enemies
  • make sure not to put these too close to blockades or they can take collateral damage from explosions or cleaves
  • you generally don’t want these to be a potential target before blockades in flyer paths in case you might have flying kobolds
  • if you run out of space near your blockade, you can just have PDTs damage enemies earlier in the lane and let the poison soften the enemies before they reach your blockade

 

= Shard Notes =

The shards listed in the build template below are what you might want by the time you reach C7.  Assuming you acquire shards chronologically, here’s some general guidelines on how you can use your shards until then.

Poison Dart Tower

  • since this tower won’t be very efficient outside of C2/C5, Destruction (C1) will be your primary damage shard
  • Defensive Critical Strike (C2) can be a temporary crit chance fix to let you make use of crit damage shards (won’t need them once you have 20 in defense crit chance ascension)
  • Deadly Strikes (C3) can be swapped for damage shards if you feel the range isn’t needed

Here’s some small quality of life tips for a builder:

  • Equipping a Speed Boost shard on any pair of boots will allow you to traverse the map quicker and set up defenses in a lane a little quicker without having to swap to a more mobile character
  • Activating the Sandstorm pet ability (learned by any pet with earth element attack) will allow you to dash quickly across the map without having to swap to a more mobile character
